What is a bridge?
Missing teeth can have a serious effect not only on your smile, but most importantly on your oral health. Bridges are useful in replacing missing teeth after an accident or serious dental decay. These permanent restorations generally made of porcelain or a composite material (metal covered by porcelain) – are used to replace missing teeth in order to restore your bite and create a pleasant smile. A bridge is a permanent treatment option to replace one or multiple missing teeth and cannot be removed by the patient.
Bridges are placed on the neighbouring teeth, so they span the site of the missing tooth. The bridge is fitted with ceramic teeth to replicate the missing teeth, restore function, and optimize esthetics.
